Latest update to WebTrak continues to help airports engage with communities over aircraft noise issues.WebTrak displays near-time and historical flight tracks over the internet to help affected communities understand what is happening at the airport and near their home. The newest release version of WebTrak further improves pilot and community outreach programs with a number of enhancements, making WebTrak 3.3 more engaging and informative than ever. NÆRUM, DENMARK – February, 2010 Spanish Airport operator AENA is the latest to launch a WebTrak service for the local community around Barajas airport in Madrid. WebTrak displays actual radar flight tracks and noise from 27 Noise Monitoring Terminals located around the airport. WebTrak is freely accessible from the airport’s website http://www.aena.es/ and allows visitors to lodge complaints about individual flights. It uses the same data that the airport has in its Noise and Flight Tracking System, SIRMA, and helps the airport to engage with communities over aircraft noise. WebTrak is part of the AENA’s Environmental Action Plan to reduce CO2 emissions and noise generated by operations at its airports throughout Spain and AENA expects to roll out similar services to other Spanish airports in the future. |
