Denis Hanley - A.M., F.A.I.C.D., F.C.P.A., M.B.A.

Non-Executive Chairman 

Denis Hanley is a CPA and company director with more than 35 years experience in the management of technology-based growth businesses.

Denis spent 14 years with Baxter International Inc., a global medical products and services company. His career at Baxter included a number of international assignments including its Chicago headquarters, and his last position was Managing Director of Baxter’s Australian operations. In 1983, Denis was founding Chief Executive Officer and, in 1986, Executive Chairman of the Australian-based separations technology company, Memtec Limited. Under his leadership, Memtec grew into a global operating filtration and separations business with 1,700 employees, listed on the New York Stock Exchange. Since the sale of Memtec to US Filter in 1997, Denis has been a successful angel investor, assisting the commercialisation of several Australian technologies. Denis is non-Executive Chairman of Pharmaxis Ltd, CathRx Ltd and PFM Cornerstone Ltd and a non executive Director of Universal Biosensors Inc. .

Denis holds an MBA with High Distinction from Harvard Graduate School of Business, where he was named a Baker Scholar.

Martin Adams - BEng (Hons), FAICD

Chief Executive Officer

As a co-founder, Martin has led the company from inception to become the world leader in its field. Martin has extensive experience in the strategic and operational management of high-tech companies. Prior to Lochard, he worked for Schlumberger and Honeywell Information Systems. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) degree with honours from the University of Melbourne.

Silvio Salom - BEng, FAICD

Silvio is a co-founder of Lochard and has served as an Executive Director since 1990. Silvio is also the co-founder and Managing Director of the successful public company, Adacel Technologies Limited. He has been instrumental in building Adacel into a successful growth company with particular expertise in information technology related to the manufacturing, environmental, defence, transport, multimedia and telecommunication industry sectors. The company was listed on the ASX in March 1998 with a market capitalisation of A$29 million. Since then, it has advanced to a current market capitalisation of more than A$45 million. Silvio holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) degree from Monash University.

Mike Rikard-Bell - BEng (Hons), MAICD

Vice-President, Sales and Marketing 

Mike is a co-founder of Lochard and has served as an Executive Director since 1991. He holds key management positions across the company's operations including product development, project management, and sales and marketing. Mike joined Lochard in 1991, after a career in engineering project management in the resources sector with CRA (now RTZ), KCGM and Bougainville Copper. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) degree with first class honours from the University of Melbourne.  

Bernard Stapleton - BEcon, MS

Bernard has served on the Board of Directors at Lochard since 2003. Bernard joined NBC Capital in 2000 and has worked to build deal flow and manage investee companies in growing shareholder value. Bernard has 20 years experience in strategy development, management consulting, commercialisation of new technology and the economics of infrastructure provision. This experience has gained through senior positions at Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers, CSR and public sector appointments. Bringing management and corporate development skills to the NBCE team, his primary role is to drive the corporate development and the effective implementation of business strategy of investee companies. He holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Queensland and a Master of Science from the University of Oregon (USA).
